Multimedia
Any good technical communicator will want to have some screen casting and video editing tools and skills at his or her finger tips to use in communicating how to get things done.
CHAMPS/NWRPCA Fall Primary Care Conference 2012
My role as Distance Learning Coordinator for the Northwest Regional Primary Care Association includes capturing and delivering content from both online and in-person trainings and conferences. At each of our conferences, we try to capture as much content as possible through Camtasia screen captures, Zoom audio recorders, and video cameras. I edit most of this content on a basic level and put onto our site, but select content is chosen for a more in-depth editing that incorporates multiple tracks of audio and video. This is a sample of one of the more detailed edits. I was both the videographer and the video editer for this video as well as all of the multimedia content captured during this conference. Content for this video was provided by Salud Family Health Center.
Wordpress Web Portfolio Workshop
These tutorials were also prepared independently as resources for a portfolio workshop I designed. These videos show you how to put together a professional looking website using WordPress a well as use some advanced features. I used them to differentiate instruction within the workshop, allowing students to revisit the instructions in the video and allow them to move at their own pace. I have included one sample video below. To see the entire series, visit my WordPress resource section.
